College Radio History Presentation at Haverford College on February 23
In a couple of weeks, on Tuesday, February 23rd, I will be presenting The Secret 90+ Year History of College Radio at Haverford as part of Haverford College's Dig into the Archives series.
It's particularly exciting because I never would have been able to do my research about Haverford's illustrious radio past without the college's extensive archives. In addition to several boxes full of radio station artifacts (including radio scripts, program guides, meeting minutes, and vintage photos), Haverford College's library also houses archives for the student newspaper and yearbook. I've found that tracking the early history of college radio almost always requires looking at student publications, so I'm thankful that many libraries save these important historical tools.
If you will be in the Philadelphia area, stop on by. The talk will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd from 4pm to 5pm in Special Collections at Magill Library at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
